West Edmeston formerly known as "Coontown," is affectionately known as the "biggest little town in the world" by its residents. It is known world wide in dairying circles, due to the presence of I.T. & C.A. Welch & Sons, cattle dealers.
The West Edmeston train depot is now a home.
The business offices of the Welch cattle business which continues as it has for over 100
years.
