Second Edition of Saving Our Valley for Sale

The first edition of this central New York local history sold out in 4 months. This is a second expanded edition containing 50 more pages. The book contains all the house tours, sketchbooks of local barns and homes, calendars of old photos, etc. that the Upper Unadilla Valley Association has produced since it's inception in 1969. Started as opposition to a proposed dam to flood the small villages of West Edmeston, Leonardsville, Unadilla Forks, Bridgewater, and West Winfield the organization continued by educating residents about the uniqueness of the area- historically, architecturally, even having a geology tour. In the 1990's when a high tension powerline wanted to march across the valley the organiztion spearheaded resistance...and won! This story along with lots of photos of local homes, old maps and a history of the manufacturing that took place along the Unadilla River in these small towns from the 1800's until the mid 1900's is all contained in the book's 252 pages. The book was locally printed by Worden Press of Brookfield NY in 2006. Only 500 have been printed. It is softcover with black and white photos, drawings and maps. The maps have been relabeled for legibility and include ones for Millers Mills, the Township of Winfield, West Winfield along the river, 3 for Unadilla Forks, leonardsville and West Edmeston.
